Shiatsu Research

A recent Europe-wide study (ESF Research Project) has proven Shiatsu is a highly effective and beneficial tool for reducing symptoms of tension and stress, and for treating muscle and joint issues. Additional scientific study has shown the meridian locations to be accurate (Fritz-Popp biophoton photos) and we are starting to understand the link between a baby's early developmental movement and meridian development. Modern studies show that the body is interconnected, ‘living matrix’ of liquid crystals, through which near-instant communication is effected via electromagnetic fields and bio-photon emissions (Ho, 1998; Popp). Recent research has shown that the body regulates its health and healing via an intricate network of connective tissues and in order to function optimally each cell in the body needs to be in communication with every other cell. (Oschman 2003 p.47) This incredibly rapid and effective communication takes place because of the liquid crystalline nature of connective tissue and through the electromagnetic conductive properties of its associated water structure. (Mae Wan Ho: The Rainbow and the Worm p.190)  The Shiatsu practitioner’s intention (Oschman, p37) modifies biomagnetic field emitted from the hands. Relaxed pressure on connective tissue enhances the communication through the piezo-electric effect (Yin-Yang Institute ref).
