Zen Shiatsu Portland

Tina Rea

I am a licensed Massage Therapist (LMT OR lic. 5362). Since earning my license in 1995, I have received extensive training in Zen Shiatsu. My training includes seminars with the late Pauline Sasaki and currently I study with Cliff Andrews, Dinah John, Nicola Pooley of the Shiatsu College of the U.K. I attended postgraduate training in 2005 and 2006 at the Shiatsu School of Great Britain and completed a two year Shiatsu teacher training program with some of the same instructors. My practice has benefited greatly from continuing training and support from this school and their instructors with international credentials. My clients are individuals who want to live an active engaged lifestyle. They want to feel more energy, less pain and greater balance between work and play. Zen Shiatsu is a method of bodywork I feel produces great benefits and results for my clients.

In addition to my private practice, since 1996 I have worked with the Institute of Traditional Medicine in their Immune Enhancement Programs. The Program cares for patients who have cancer, MS, HIV, arthritis and chronic pain. The Shiatsu clinic provides an important part of the Institute's program that includes Acupuncture and Chinese herbs for their patients. Through my work there I have gained greater knowledge and effectiveness in using Shiatsu to address illnesses and diseases that compromise the immune system.

As a group Zen Shiatsu Portland has tought classes through East-West College of the Healing Arts. Currently we are developing a new series of small classes to take place at our downtown Portland offices.
